Moisture Regain And Common Weight Of Textile Materials

2008/6/17 0:00:00 57

Textile materials include textile raw materials and textile semi-finished products, such as various fibers, slivers, yarns, fabrics, etc.

The hygroscopicity of textile materials is an important characteristic related to material properties and processing technology.

The hygroscopicity of textile materials is usually expressed by moisture regain and regurgency. These basic quality indicators play a very important role in the commercial trade, performance testing and textile processing of textile materials.

The moisture regain and the moisture regain of the textile materials are the percentage of moisture absorbed in the sample, which accounts for the dry weight of the sample.

The moisture regain of textile materials varies from time to time.

In order to eliminate the weight difference caused by different moisture regain and meet the needs of textile materials trade and inspection, the state stipulates the corresponding standard for the moisture regain of various textile materials, known as the regain.

It is numerically close to the equilibrium moisture regain measured under standard temperature and humidity conditions.

It should be noted that the regulations on the moisture regain of textile materials are often determined according to their actual conditions, so they are not exactly the same.

The oven test is usually used to test moisture regain of textile materials.

It is heated through the resistance inside the oven, so that the temperature of the air in the oven reaches a certain value, and keeps the temperature throughout the drying process. Then, the samples of textile materials that have been called wet weight are put into a constant temperature oven for drying, so that the moisture in the textile materials is continuously evaporated in the hot air, and the hot and humid air is continuously discharged out of the box by the exhaust device of the oven, so as to create conditions for the continuous evaporation of moisture in the textile materials.

As the moisture content of textile materials is continuously evaporated and lost, the weight decreases. When the weight is dried to the same level, it is the dry weight of textile materials.

At this time, the dry weight of the sample can be described by the method of heat in the box. Finally, the moisture regain of the textile material can be obtained according to the wet weight and dry weight of the sample.

In the oven method, the drying temperature is specified, the cotton is 105 C + + 3 C, the wool and most chemical fibers are 105~110 C, and the wire is 140~145 C.

The drying time is generally 90min.

In addition, the moisture regain of textile materials can be measured by resistance wet method.

Resistance wet method is based on the different resistance of textile materials at different moisture regain, so as to determine moisture content in textile materials.
