　　 The fifth general meeting of the Xiamen Textile and Garment Trade Association and the second general meeting of the Fashion Designers' Branch was held in Xiamen Xianglu International Hotel on June 19. Liu Baofa, associate professor of Xiamen Institute of Arts and Crafts, was elected as the second president of the Fashion Designers' Branch of the Textile and Garment Trade Association, and Wu Xiuhua as the secretary general.

Over the past 21 years since the establishment of Xiamen Textile and Garment Trade Association, under the guidance of relevant industry policies, Xiamen Textile and Garment Trade Association has united peers, communicated with members, contacted the government, safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of members, maintained fair competition in the industry, assisted members in developing markets, formulated industry plans, and carried out many useful activities, which promoted the healthy development of Xiamen textile and garment industry.

It is reported that since 2000, Xiamen's textile and clothing industry has witnessed the fastest development and the best benefit in its history. More than 290 enterprises above designated size have achieved an industrial output value of 16.4 billion yuan, and the wholesale industry of textile and clothing daily necessities above designated size has reached 55.239 billion yuan, accounting for 29.66% of the city's wholesale business, of which 37.764 billion yuan, accounting for 20.28% of the city's wholesale industry. There are hundreds of enterprises engaged in textile and clothing trade and export processing. In recent years, the export volume of textile and clothing at Xiamen Port has always been in the forefront of the country.

At present, the Xiamen Municipal Government has issued the Implementation Plan for the Revitalization of the Textile Industry in Xiamen, which has created a good environment and a strong atmosphere for the development of the textile and clothing industry. Xiamen is also an important central city of the Haixi Economic Zone, with comparative advantages in export-oriented economy and regional advantages in Taiwan.

Zhou Shaoming said that the first priority in the future is to train the clothing fashion industry, make full use of Xiamen's beautiful environment and modern urban culture, attract the world's top designers to gather on the basis of the cultural atmosphere of Gulangyu, the "island of music", set up a design studio, and develop into an international clothing design center. The Asia Pacific fashion release center, as a platform, Xiamen will be built into a clothing R&D center, a publishing center, and a business center.

Second, we will vigorously develop the brand economy of the clothing industry, foster the clothing culture, make Xiamen the main gathering place of Chinese clothing brands, and continue to attract brand clothing enterprises to Xiamen to establish operation centers, design centers, technology research and development centers, and market marketing networks based on the headquarters economic policies; Continue to vigorously support the development of international well-known clothing brands in Xiamen, and drive the development of domestic brand clothing with its advanced brand management philosophy and production technology, which will enable Xiamen's textile and clothing industry to achieve rapid development in the transformation.
