The association invited cotton farmers not to sell their cotton at below $2 / kg.

Maurice Mu Kewei, vice president of the Zimbabwe cotton producers and Distributors Association, said they expect cotton cotton mill Association (CGA) to agree to the price demanded by cotton growers. Otherwise, they will ask the government to allow more independent buyers in the market, in order to save farmers from exploitation.

At the beginning of the year, cotton growers bought inputs from contractors for cotton cultivation, but because of the drought in the middle of the season, they destroyed cotton crops and farmers reused their crops with imported inputs from the president.

Mu Kewei therefore persuaded cotton farmers not to accept part of the payment but to demand full payment because they accepted past experience. In the past, buyers did not comply with their commitments and did not pay the rest.
