Peru Garment Exports Increased By 22% In 2011 1~10

He said that the clothing market was going up this year, and the average price of each garment reached US $7.25, which was 20.41% higher than the average price in the first 10 months of last year.

Ofik said, because the United States accounts for 51% of the market share of Peru's clothing exports, so when the US economy is depressed and the demand for imports falls, it will cause great pressure on the export of Peru's garment industry. He believes that one of the great challenges of Peru exporters is to diversify the market and vigorously expand Latin American neighbouring countries and other regions, so as to reduce excessive dependence on the US market.

According to statistics, the second largest export market for clothing in Peru is Venezuela, accounting for 19% of Peru's clothing export market share; followed by Brazil, accounting for 5%; Argentina and Columbia each account for 3%; Italy, Germany and Chile each account for 2%.
