Trinity Limited acquires Gieves&Hawkes brand

Li&Fung Group Trinity Limited Agreed on Wednesday buy Gieves&Hawkes, a British menswear brand. Since 2002, the brand of Gieves&Hawkes has been controlled by Wing Tai Properties Group in Hong Kong, Gieves&Hawkes The brand was founded in 1771 and has been located in No.1 Savile Row since 1912.


Trinity said that it would pay the balance to Wing Tai Group every year in the next 18 years, with an estimated total amount of 95.3 million dollars.


Last year, Gieves&Hawkes hired Barry Tulip, who graduated from Central Saint Martin College, as the design director of the brand. Barry Tulip also showed us his superb design talent at the Fashion Week.


As of December 2010, the sales of Gieves&Hawkes brand was 24.3 million dollars, with a loss of 3.9 million dollars. Trinity Group also has Cerruti 1881, Kent&Curwen, Altea and other brands. The Group plans to vigorously strengthen the recognition of Gieves&Hawkes in the Chinese market and enhance the market value of the brand.
